The DLD fee is the transfer fee of the Dubai Land Department and is usually 4% of the purchase price, plus smaller administrative costs.
It falls due on the transfer of ownership and is the single largest block of incidental costs. In the market it is customarily borne by the buyer. Added to it are registration and trustee fees and, if involved, the agency commission.
As a rule of thumb, buyers should budget around 6 to 7% in incidental costs on top of the purchase price.
